ocean lover. beach walker. collector. curator

Amber Skehan is the maker behind Drifters Coastal Hangs, based on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. Her practice explores the beauty of nature's imperfections through the transformation of hand-gathered coastal treasures into thoughtfully crafted pieces for the home. Inspired by a lifelong connection to the ocean, her work celebrates the textures, forms and stories shaped by the sea.

Working with what nature provides, Amber transforms driftwood, shells, cuttlefish and other coastal finds into wall hangs and objects designed for relaxed coastal living.

Her favourite treasures to collect are native flat oyster shells found along the shores of Port Phillip Bay and sun-bleached driftwood, tumbled and reshaped by the sea.

For Amber, Drifters Coastal Hangs is more than a creative practice; it is a way of celebrating the coastline and sharing its beauty, character and imperfections through thoughtfully crafted pieces for the home.

Each Drifters piece is created in small batches and celebrates the beauty of nature's imperfections — shaped by the sea, gathered by hand and thoughtfully curated for the home.

All Drifters elements are ethically foraged or sourced in small quantities using responsible collecting practices.

hand gathered. carefully curated. uniquely natural

Each and every unique Drifter piece boasts raw, simplistic beauty, tumbled and reshaped by nature before being foraged and re-imagined as wall art.
Each wall hang is hand-crafted and individually designed, using only natural and quality materials.
